The atmosphere of Utua's filming days

In mid-September, the people of Utua, NLux Studio, models and a photographer worked for two intense days on bag shoots. There were several shooting locations: Sovelius House and Wanha Raahe, the beach in Pyhäjoki, Tauvo sandy beach and the Rokua National Park area.

The schedule was tight and there were a lot of photos to take. NLux's power duo Hanna Kallioniemi and Marika Goman had prepared the moodboards, clothing and locations. The photographer was Jaana Koskipaasi from Liminka. Our models were Topi, Iiris, Hannele, Jaakko and Ella.

A picture is worth a thousand words

Images have a wonderful power. They convey moods, emotions, dreams. They are the art of moments, but still reality.

Whether it's a historic interior or beautiful nature, they provide a stunning backdrop for our bags. Our models also had the skill to portray different types of personalities believably in front of the camera lens.

Our bags can have many different owners. A beautiful picture of a bag on the shoulder of a businesswoman or in the hand of a bohemian woman provides a better basis for identification than a picture of just a bag. Not forgetting men! This is what we have strived for and hopefully succeeded.

Sovelius House

This beautiful, historic house is one of the attractions of the Raahe Museum. The upper floor of the Sovelius house houses the interior museum Laivapatruuni's Home, which presents the wealthy home of a shipping merchant from the 1890s in all its splendor. Here we wanted to photograph, among other things, our vegetable-tanned bags.

Tauvo beach

The beautiful sandy beach of Tauvo is located 20 kilometers north of Raahe, in the Siikajoki River. There, the canvas of light sand and blue sky created a magically beautiful background for our bags. The new mohair hats and scarves were also photographed there.

Wooden city environment

The wooden houses, fences and gateposts of Old Raahe are characteristic of our city. Using these in the images is a given. There is no need to go further than the sea to fish, because our own local environment provides such a personal background.

Pyhäluoto beach

Beautiful reddish rocks and a sunset. You can only imagine the incredible atmosphere this rugged landscape created for our photography team. We managed to capture some stunning images!

Rokua

Just over an hour's drive northeast of Raahe lies the scenic Rokua National Park. There, our group captured some peaceful nature photos with our bags. We also had the use of the luxury villa Villa Jäkälä , where we shot both outdoors and indoors.

The ABC of successful images

The success of the images always depends on many things. For outdoor shoots, the weather and the natural light are of paramount importance. Indoors, lighting is most often done with professional photographers' equipment.

However, the key to everything is the idea, the vision for the final image, the way the models are in front of the camera, and the photographer's skill in combining all of these.
