You probably already knew that Utua is a Finnish brand and company. But do you know where you can find us physically?
To find Utua's store and design studio, you have to travel to Northern Ostrobothnia, about 70 km south of Oulu. You can find us here in the heart of Raahe's old town, right on the edge of Pekkatori. The idyllic and atmospheric old town is largely residential, but in recent years, new life and activity have emerged in the area around Pekkatori.
The store premises were used by merchants as early as the 19th century.
Many customers are delighted when they enter the store. The old blue wooden house, built in 1812, has been renovated into a store that glows with the colors of Utua. When climbing the stairs, you often hear sniffing and delighted sighs, because the store really smells of genuine leather. The old, log-framed house exudes a sense of bygone times and offers an atmospheric setting for business. Johan Lang, who built the house, once had his own studio where the current store is located and traded on the other side of the world's oceans.
A great stopover on a longer drive
If you are traveling from north to south or from south to north, Raahe is a convenient stop along the way. Located on the edge of Pekkatori, this tourist attraction is a great choice for a stopover. The building next to Utua houses the Langin Kauppahuone café-restaurant and boutique hotel. So, during the same stop, you can visit the Utua store and enjoy a coffee or lunch, which will help you continue your journey. If the drive is long, you can also book a room and stay comfortably in the Kauppahuone's atmospheric rooms, each of which is uniquely decorated according to a person who once lived in the courtyard.
During the summer and around Christmas, our store is open with extended opening hours, and slightly shorter in the spring and autumn.
